Rog — Host Privacy Policy

Template notice — please read. This document is a starting-point template prepared to help Rog get organised. It is not legal advice and is not a substitute for review by a qualified Indian lawyer. Before you publish it or launch either app, have an advocate familiar with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, consumer-protection law, and EV-charging regulation review and adapt it to Rog’s actual data practices, systems, and jurisdiction. 1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Rog (“Rog”, “we”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you register and operate as a charging host using the Rog host application and related services (the “Host App” or “Services”). Rog operates from Rog — Headquarters, Coonoor, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, India.

Being a host involves a commercial relationship, so we also process business and payout information in addition to personal data. By onboarding as a host, you acknowledge this Policy.

2. Who this applies to

This Policy applies to individuals who register as hosts, and to the individual representatives, owners, or staff of business hosts (“you”). Where you provide personal data about other people (for example, staff who manage a site), you confirm you may share it with us for these purposes.

3. Data we collect

Business & tax	Business name, address, GSTIN/PAN, and registration details where applicable.
Payout	Bank account or UPI details for settlements, and transaction/settlement history.
Site & charger	Site address and coordinates, charger type and connectors, availability, pricing, and photos you upload.
Operational	Sessions hosted, energy delivered (kWh), uptime, faults, and earnings.
Device & technical	Device and app information, IP address, identifiers, logs, and diagnostics.
Communications	Support and account messages and your preferences.

4. How and why we use your data

to onboard and verify you and your site, and prevent fraud;
to list your charger, manage availability and pricing, and connect you with drivers;
to meter sessions, calculate earnings, and settle payouts;
to provide dashboards, analytics, support, and dispute resolution;
to maintain safety, reliability, and compliance across the network;
to meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations; and
with your consent, to send you updates and offers relevant to hosts.

5. Lawful basis

We process host data to perform our agreement with you, for certain legitimate uses, to comply with law, and, where required, with your consent under the DPDP Act, 2023. You can withdraw consent for non-essential processing, though this may affect your ability to operate as a host.

Drivers: the public-facing details needed to find and use your charger (site name, location, connector, price, availability, and any photos or ratings you enable).
Payment & banking partners: to verify payout details and settle earnings.
Verification & compliance providers: for identity/business checks and fraud prevention.
Service providers: cloud, analytics, communications, and support vendors under contract.
Legal, tax & safety: authorities and advisors where required by law or to protect the network.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. Retention

We retain host and transaction data for as long as your account is active and thereafter as needed for legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes, after which we delete or anonymise it.

8. Security

We apply reasonable safeguards to protect host and financial data, including encryption in transit and access controls. In the event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required.

9. Your rights

Subject to law, you may access, correct, update, or erase your personal data, withdraw consent for non-essential processing, nominate a representative, and raise grievances (including to the Data Protection Board of India). Some data must be retained to meet legal and financial obligations even after account closure. Contact the Grievance Officer below to exercise your rights.

10. Your responsibilities as a host

As a host you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for the lawful operation of your charging point (including electrical safety and any permissions or DISCOM requirements that apply to your connection), and for handling any personal data of your own customers lawfully. Rog’s metering-and-settlement model is designed so that host earnings are treated as a charging service; you remain responsible for your own tax compliance.

11. Data transfers

Data is primarily processed in India. Any transfer outside India will be made only as permitted under applicable law with appropriate protection.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy and will post the revised version with a new “last updated” date, notifying you of significant changes.
